There are three subtypes of Alzheimer’s, according to the inflammatory response, which are as follows:

  • Inflammatory Alzheimer’s: Inflammatory Alzheimer’s shows high serum albumin to globulin ratio as well as high C-reactive protein levels, which are the indicators of inflammation in the brain tissues. In addition, there are cognitive decline and disrupting behavioral symptoms too.
  • Non-inflammatory Alzheimer’s : Non-inflammatory Alzheimer’s does not appear to increase the inflammatory biomarkers but there is presence of certain metabolic abnormalities in the patient.
  • Cortical Alzheimer’s: Cortical Alzheimer’s appears due to zinc deficiency throughout different regions of the brain. Although the cortical Alzheimer’s does not exhibit any inflammatory response but it might result in abnormalities in the normal functioning of the brain leading to Alzheimer’s disease.
