Alzheimer’s patients might suffer from trouble in understanding or recognizing visual images and certain spatial relationships as the temporal lobe of the brain suffers damage from the disorder. Vision problems are some definite signs of the progression of Alzheimer’s in a patient. The brain disorder leads to difficulty in reading and having balance issues. In addition, the sufferer might also face issues in determining contrast or color and problems in judging distance thus leading to driving problems. However, it is important to understand that there is no disruption occurring to the eye sight in Alzheimer’s, but the brain centers for recognizing and analyzing visuals or face expression suffer the damage thus causing spatial awareness issues.
