Short or Webbed Neck
A series of physical traits can be indicative of Down syndrome in newly born children. Such signs are seen among 80 percent of all cases. While there are several features evident, one of the most prominent symptoms is a short neck. This will typically cause the child to appear below-average in height, and short folds on the skin are visible around the neck. As the infant grows, these folds slowly disappear.
