What is Down Syndrome?

Brushfield Spots

Brushfield Spots

Another primary symptom of Down syndrome is the presence of brush field spots within the iris of the eye. Brushfield spots can also occur in normal children, but they mostly affect kids with Down syndrome. The cause of this condition is the aggregation of connective tissue, and the reason is unknown. It affects citizens of European descent more than those of any other ethnicity. Luckily, in many cases, these spots aren’t a cause for concern and do not require any medical intervention.
