Allergies
Skin allergy is a common symptom in lactose intolerant people. Statistical data show that in 40% of patients, classical allergic symptoms – such as runny nose, eye irritation, skin rash, and itchy skin due to hyper immune response to the casein protein in milk are seen. Allergy is mainly identified as different condition than lactose intolerance. Babies are generally allergic to cow’s milk. However, for some individuals milk allergy and lactose intolerance may occur simultaneously and it may be difficult to diagnose and distinguish one from the other.
