Target Therapy
Target therapy is designed for specific targets, including receptors or proteins present in cancer cells. The purpose and goal of target therapy are to stop cancer cells’ growth or slow it down by attacking the genetic features of cells that regulate the division of cancer cells.
There are many types of target therapy, including monoclonal antibodies, small-molecule drug, and hormone therapy. Target therapy is used to treat melanoma or other nonmelanoma skin cancers such s rare cases of advance basal cell carcinoma.
Target therapy drugs are given depending upon factors like clinical consideration and personal preferences. They can be given orally, by injection, or by infusion.
