Mania is an intense feeling of hopefulness, happiness, and excitement and the patient feels on top of the world. The feelings of excessive excitement and optimism might cause loss of contact from the real world and the person start imagining things which are not present in reality. Some patients feel very excited and happy making it difficult for themselves to deal with the realities of life. Bipolar disorder patients might feel periods full of energy, exciting ideas, and feel so important than usual.
