Hand-held medical device damages sweat glands
This is a new treatment that is approved by the FDA. A healthcare provider such as a dermatologist must provide these treatments. If this is a choice, the dermatologist utilizes a machine that stops electromagnetic energy. This energy damages the sweat glands. In one or two visits, the glands might be destroyed. Once destroyed, the sweat glands are forever gone. This device might only cure the armpit because this site of the body has sufficient underlying fat to protect them. This device cannot be beneficial to cure the feet and hands because such areas do not have sufficient fat.
This is a new treatment choice. Unlike other treatments, there is not a lot of information regarding this treatment for hyperhidrosis. We do not understand how long the results occur. Long-term side effects are still not known.
