Infection
It is a possibility that an infection might increase the risk of developing knee pain. Any infection resulting from a viral or bacterial attack around the knee joint can lead to knee pain. On the other hand, a totally separate infection like a viral stomach infection might also lead to knee pain by activating an auto-immune reaction in the body. A septic or bacterial arthritis leads to redness, swelling, loss of movement, and significant joint pain.
