Ringworm of the body or medically known as tinea corporis is a type of fungal infection that occurs as red, itchy, scaly, and slightly bumpy rings all over the body. The ring starts growing outwards with the spread of the infection and the central area starts lacking infection. Ringworm often spreads with direct contact of skin-to-skin with an infected animal or a person. A ringworm infection in the groin area is known as jock itch while the ringworm infection of the foot is known as athlete’s foot.
