Structure Of The Knee

All the structures of the knee often have their anatomical reference as part of their name, particularly if there are other similar structures close by. There are two menisci in the knee – named as the medial meniscus and lateral meniscus.

Beside bones and meniscus (cartilages), other important anatomical structures of the knee include ligaments and tendons, such as anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament, medial collateral ligament, lateral collateral ligament, ligament of patella.
