Fibromyalgia affects many organs and body parts other than your joints. It can result in constant weakness, cognitive decline, and temperament changes.

Fibromyalgia makes “Tender points” that are generally situated in the neck, shoulders, back, hips, arms, or legs. The pain brought about by these tender points can go from moderate to severe. In some patients, these tender points can form in the knee joint and cause pain and swelling.

In the US, 6-12 million people (2-4% of the total population) has  fibromyalgia, and it 2-7 times more common in women than men. [5]
