Locking Of The Joint

The orthopedics and physiotherapists divide the locking symptom of knee pain as either pseudo-locking or true locking. In the case of pseudo-locking, the person feels locking or clunks in the knee joint, but is able to extend the leg fully. Knee muscle stiffness can lead to pseudo-locking and it does subside on its own if you do not strain the knee too much. While true locking occurs when you are totally unable to extend your knee and it is a result of a significant knee injury.
