Dark urine
When bilirubin passes to the bloodstream, it is not correctly eliminated through the bile and not deposited in the stools. This substance has no use in the organism because it is a waste product of the metabolism. Therefore, the only way it has to leave the body is through the urine. Since bilirubin has a strong yellow to brownish color, it changes the color of the urine to a dark color. This symptom is commonly seen in many other diseases affecting the liver, and might not be apparent from the start.
