Fever is a common sign of any infectious disease that may be caused by a bacteria, virus or other invading pathogens. The urinary tract infection usually does not cause fever or flu-like symptoms, however, when it involves the kidneys, your body’s immune system responds quickly and tend to raise the temperature of your body. Raised body temperature is favorable for your immune system to destroy the invading pathogens. In most cases, you may experience a high temperature of about 100-103 F.

You could also have other associated symptoms like chills, rigors, and night sweats. These symptoms indicate a severe and advanced infection compared to typical UTI.
