Breast Cancer
Chemotherapy is most typically a part of the treatment course for breast cancer patients with a diagnosis in late or middle stage. The overall survival rate for five years for females with breast cancer is almost 90%, which is quite good. Among the patients with stage 1 breast cancer, the five-year survival rate is almost 100%. The survival rate reduces proportionally the later a person gets breast cancer diagnosis. The breast cancer patients who get a diagnosis at stage 4 have five-year survival rate of only 26% with chemotherapy. Although the patients who surgically remove their tumors in breast and continue with chemotherapy can normally live a healthy life with no serious symptoms of cancer.
