The pain at the bottom of the heel can flare up after prolonged physical activity or exercise. Surprisingly, the pain does not get worse during the performance of physical activities or exercise but only after you complete it. The reason behind that is that the ligaments of the plantar fascia start tearing off and inflame resulting in painful sensations that extend outwards from the heel. The flared-up pain after exercise or strenuous physical activity accompanies increased inflammation and irritation of the plantar fascia. People suffering from plantar fasciitis do not typically feel pain while they are performing a physical activity or exercise but rather right after ceasing it.
