Causes Genital herpes
Genital herpes infection results from the exposure to herpes simplex virus (HSV) types 1 and type 2. These herpes simplex virus types are contagious and they transmit from one person to another by skin-to-skin contact. Touching or kissing is the major source of HSV-1 transmission while sexual contact is the major cause of HSV 2 transmission. Genital herpes infections might cause due to the herpes simplex viruses exposure which enter inside the body through the skin and move to the nerves but do not cause any issue there. Genital herpes can cause skin blisters upon the activation of herpes simplex virus. Herpes simplex virus HSV-1 normally has an association with infections appearing on or around the lips and mouth while the HSV-2 virus results in genital infections. [4]
Other locations in the human body such as the neck or eyes can also suffer from genital herpes infections. Each of the two herpes simplex viruses can affect the body parts that typically have a connection with the other virus. There are also other types of herpes viruses but they do not result in genital herpes infection. For instance, common cold results from a herpes virus known as Epstein-Bar virus and the causative agent of chickenpox is a type of herpes zoster virus.
