Immunomodulators:

Immunotherapy treatments might enhance the immune system to fight cancer in a better way, but it might not always be viable or available for the patients having a history of hepatitis infection. As hepatitis infection has already compromises the immune system and immunotherapy on top can put extra burden on normal liver cells thus damaging them. Following is the list of Immunomodulators for treating liver cancer:

  • Nivolumab

Nivolumab is a checkpoint inhibitor that kills the tumors on PD-L1/PD-1 pathway and you can use it in combination with ipilimumab to treat the patients with advanced liver cancer.

  • Atezolizumab

Atezolizumab is one of the checkpoint inhibitor that kills the tumor cells on PD-L1 pathway and can be the first line of defense for patients with advanced liver cancer.

  • Ipilimumab

Ipilimumab is one of the checkpoint inhibitors that kill the CTLA-4 pathway and you can use it in combination with nivolumab to treat patients with formerly treated and advanced liver cancer.
