T-cell therapy
The doctor takes T cells from the cancer patient and adds certain protein receptors to these cells and put them back in the body. The T cells with receptors allow the immune system to detect and kill cancer cells. T-cell therapy is also known as a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy. CAR T-cell therapy works effectively in treating blood cancers.
