Oncolytic virus therapy involves the viruses after making changes to them in the laboratory to kill cancer cells. The doctor inoculates the genetically altered virus into the cancer cells and then the virus starts making copies of it by penetrating the cancer cells. The cancer cells burst as a result and eventually die. The virus does not penetrate or harm the healthy cells.
