Swelling of legs
The development of lymphedema commonly occurs in advanced stage bladder cancer. Patient presents with heaviness of the leg, swelling, pain in leg, and a feeling of tight clothing. Decreased flexibility of the leg or ankle can also be a common complaint of the patients presenting in the hospital with swelling of legs.
Leg lymphedema can develop within a few days, months, or occasionally years. Long term lymphedema is more common and severe. Visit your doctor as soon as possible if you have any symptoms of swelling of legs. Leg lymphedema can also occur after surgery or radiation therapy.
