Limitations In Mobility

Limitations in mobility

The curvatures in the spinal cord prevent the muscle’s regular movements and cause utter discomfort for SMA patients. The mobility of the SMA patients reduces, and the children are having SMA feel too weak because of the spinal curvature that the range of motion they attain through their movements is minimal. The reduction in the full range of motion by the weak joints in children makes them more prone to severe spinal curvature development. The muscles’ flexibility also becomes lesser in spinal muscular atrophy patients, which leads to lesser movements. Due to all the pain because of spinal curvature, the patient faces difficulty in attaining voluntary movements.
