Gallstones
Gallstones might cause severe, sudden abdominal pain that mostly lasts for almost 1 to 5 hours, therefore it might sometimes just last for a few minutes. The pain might feel in the central area of your abdomen (stomach) just below the ribs on the right side. It might spread from there to your shoulder blade or another side. Normally, gallstones might cause more severe problems if they block the bile flow for a longer time or move it into some other organs such as the small bowel or pancreas.
