Ringworm usually initiates as a small pimple on the scalp that progressively expands in size. Scaly patches are formed and can cause temporary baldness. It is due to the fungal attack that gets into the hair fibers in the infected area, causing the hair to breaks off easily and leaving a bald patch of skin.
