You can test prebiotic foods like raw Jerusalem artichokes, leeks, dandelion root, and onions if you’re not near a flare-up. These foods can’t be easily digested, but they feed the good bacteria in your gut, promoting the microbiome balance.
Fair warning, however: if you follow a low-FODMAP diet, these foods are not good choices, so be sure to get advice from your doctor first.
