Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury:
One of the most commonly occurring ligament injuries include the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that results from a sports-related injury by a sudden change and stop in directions. The other ligaments such as the lateral collateral ligament, medial collateral ligament, and the posterior cruciate ligament suffers less frequent injuries. During an ACL injury, the person might hear a cracking or popping sound which leads to sudden giving out and swelling of the knee. [2]
