Von Willebrand Disease

In this disease, the von Willebrand factor is deficient in this body. Von Willebrand is the clotting protein that clots blood when an injury occurs. The function of the Von Willebrand factor is to blinds the platelets with the clotting protein to clot blood on the area of injury. The children mostly inherit this disease from their parents. Many people with this disease do not know that they are suffering from this disease because its symptoms are widespread that many people face in their everyday life.

The symptoms may include excessive bleeding after dental work, surgeries, accidents, and injuries. Blood appears in the urine or stool. They were bleeding from the nose that does not stop within 10 minutes. Symptoms include tiredness, shortness of breath, and fatigue.

It usually causes due to the abnormal gene inherited from the parents that do not control the von Willebrand factor. The patients have a low level of protein, platelets that cannot combine so that the blood does not clot.

For the treatment of the von Willebrand, the doctors usually inject the clotting protein in the patient’s body or nasal spray.
