Autoimmune Disorders
Certain autoimmune diseases may contribute to the development of hemophilia. These disorders attack the immune system and can make the clotting factors not functional. Some autoimmune diseases lead to insufficient production or lack of clotting factors such as factor VIII, which is the cause of hemophilia A.
