Researchers have found an alarming correlation to increased risk of cancer and anemia with iron deficiency. While there is still no clear understanding of why one hypothesis indicates that it may be to blame a transition to “immune behavior” caused by iron deficiency. The risk of cancer to anemic patients includes cancers of the pancreas, kidneys, liver, and bladder.
