Certain health conditions
Certain health conditions can also lead to the development of dry eyes by either increasing the evaporation of natural tears or by lower production of mucus in the eyelids. The following are the underlying situations that might also raise the risk of getting or aggravating dry eyes condition:
- Rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and some other immune system diseases
- Chronic allergies
- Exposure keratitis happens when you are sleeping with open eyes partially
- Thyroid disorders or other situations that make the eyes move forward and more prominent
