Watery eyes also called tearing or epiphora is a situation in which there is an excessive flow of tears on your face, sometimes without even clear reason. Epiphora might lead when there is overproduction of tears or not enough tear film drainage from an eye or eyes. The eyes always make tears. These tears make a small hole in the corner of your eyes known as a tear duct. The watery eyes cause consists of:

  • Dry eyes
  • Allergy to dander, mold, dust
  • Infection
  • Irritation
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Scrape on an eye
  • Bright light
  • Blockage of the tear duct
  • Eyelid turning outward or inward
  • Swelling on the edge of the eyelid (Blepharitis)
  • Vomiting
  • Yawning
