Skin Problems
In rare cases, the use of probiotics may cause itchiness or skin rashes.
According to a study, people who took probiotics to treat IBS complained about an itchy rash as a side effect. If severe itching or a rash occurs, stop using the probiotic. Go through the product’s labeling for any allergens, and visit a doctor if the rash is persistent, severe, or if it is accompanied by other concerning symptoms.
Once the rash has cleared, a person may try different products or strains of probiotics.
