Arthritis
The HCV infection itself can cause joint and muscle pain. The infection stimulates the body’s immune system, which combats and tend to neutralize the virus. The activation of the immune system can also cause joint and muscle pain. In patients with HCV, the infection continually multiplies in the liver and blood. This causes constant stimulation of the immune system – leading to a wide variety of rheumatic problems, including arthritis.
