Tattooing and body piercing
Various studies and clinical trials have proven that there is a risk that the hepatitis C virus can be transmitted by body piercing or using tattooing equipment that has not been properly cleaned and sterilized. This risk is comparatively lower than direct blood transfusions and unprotected sex.
However, most body piercing and tattoo parlors are regulated by law and usually operate to high standards -making this risk extremely low. You should also take care and make sure before any such procedure that the equipment being used is properly packed and don’t contain contaminated blood or other fluids.
