The mild and severe symptoms of the influenza virus are more common among the human population. The chances of life-threatening conditions are also possible, and even death might occur. The high-risk groups are usually more prone to hospitalization and death. According to the world health organization that reports, almost 3 to 5 million patients of severe influenza infection worldwide, and almost 290,000 to 650,000 people die from respiratory disorders. In the countries with higher industrialization, the deaths of the people with influenza epidemic occur among the people who have a weaker immune system and are older than 65.
There are productivity losses and a higher degree of school or work absenteeism due to the seasonal influenza infection rate. During the peak illness durations of influenza, infection hospitals are overwhelming from the patient, further increasing the virus’s chances of spreading. According to the research estimates, the developing countries suffer from almost 99% of deaths among children younger than five years of age, having lower respiratory tract infections. The exact number of causalities and the number of patients are not fully known, but the main reason for higher mortality is poor hygienic conditions.
