MDS Complications

Anemia:

Anemia is the most common complication of MDS. Red blood cells transport oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body. These cells also carry carbon dioxide to the lungs for exhalation by breathing. In the lack of these cells, the person feels fatigued and shortness of breath that are signs of anemia.
