Easy Bleeding

Platelets perform the function of blood clotting at the site of damage in the body. They gather at the area of injury and form blood clots to stop bleeding. In the absence or lack of blood vessels, the person experiences easy bleeding even after minor cuts that won’t stop. This condition may lead to excessive bleeding and can be fatal.

More chances of cancer:

MDS can eventually develop into blood cancer, such as cancer of white blood cells known as leukemia.

Severe neutropenia:

A disease condition of fatal and frequent infections due to lack of platelets in the body.

Thrombocytopenia:

Thrombocytopenia is a diseased condition in which a person experiences fatal internal bleedings that don’t stop quickly. These include severe nose bleeds and bleeding from internal wounds such as ulcers.

Iron overload:

Due to repeated blood transfusion, extra iron accumulates in the body cause organ damage and enhance the chances of other complications such as cardiomyopathy, tissue damage, liver diseases, kidney diseases, and diabetes.
