Try some hair gel or petroleum jelly
There’s no evidence to prove that applying thick, hair-stiffening gel or vaseline (petroleum jelly) kills head lice and their eggs; however, like olive oil, many mothers swear by it. The goo is supposed to suffocate the lice by clogging their breathing holes.
According to one study, petroleum jelly works better than other home remedies. However, precautions must be taken because Vaseline may not work as desired and is difficult to remove. (Styling gel is easier to wash out.
Apply the gel on the scalp and hair, cover it with a shower cap and leave it overnight, wash it out in the morning. Comb the hair for nits. Repeat the process after one week.
