Manic phase is the period of intensely high energy due to bipolar disorder. It is normal for everyone to have changing mood and energy levels throughout the day but the manic phase is an abrupt change in patients of bipolar disorder. Mania changes the way a person typically behaves or thinks and it might last for several weeks or months. Increased energy or over-excitement is one of the key behavioral symptoms of bipolar disorder. There is an increase in the motor activity and the psychomotor pressure in almost 80 to 90% of the patients with bipolar disorder. The higher levels of energy and psychomotor pressure cause an elevation in mood of the patient thus making them happier and full of energy.
