The people who are suffering from diabetes mellitus for a long time are more prone to develop the condition of Dupuytren’s contraction. The condition of diabetes mellitus causes several complications in the body, and one of this complication includes abnormalities in the local neurovascular system. The changes and abnormalities in the local neurovascular system cause the formation of nodules by making the cords of fascia stiff and thick. Although the condition of Dupuytren’s contraction is not very severe when diabetes is the underlying cause, it causes the crushing of palmar surfaces for the fingers farthest from the thumb.
