Low norepinephrine levels
According to the experts, there is involvement of damage to the nerve endings in brain that are responsible for the production of norepinephrine, which is also a neurotransmitter. Low levels of norepinephrine in Parkinson’s disease contribute to further complications in patients. Norepinephrine is responsible for the automatic body functions and regulation of blood circulation. There is a greater risk for Parkinson’s disease patients to develop both non-motor and motor symptoms, including:
- Postural instability
- Anxiety
- Rigidity and stiffness of limbs
- Depression
- Tremor
- Dementia
