Certain environment factors might also increase the risk of developing Parkinson’s disease. Certain lifestyle factors like a diet rich in antioxidants along with regular physical exercise might impart protective effects in a majority of the people against the development of Parkinson’s disease.
Some of these factors include the following:
- Toxin exposure: Exposure to some toxins such as solvents, pesticides, metals, and other pollutants might contribute to the development of Parkinson’s disease.
- Past traumatic brain injury: Certain head injuries resulting from contact sports or accidents might increase the risk of Parkinson’s disease.
- Some medications and drugs: Certain drugs can lead to the development of Parkinsonism, which is a condition causing tremor and other similar of Parkinson’s disease but does not cause Parkinson’s disease.
