COMT inhibitors
Catechol O-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitors extend the effect of levodopa. Tolcapone and entacapone are some examples of COMT inhibitors. Ectacapone comes with almost zero side effects while tolcapone might cause liver damage. Doctors only recommend tolcapone when people do not respond well to other medications.
