Lewy bodies are abnormal inclusions and aggregate of protein that start developing inside the neurons in people having Parkinson’s disease. Lewy bodies mainly consist of a protein known as alpha-Synuclein which is insoluble fibrillary accumulation of incorrectly folded proteins. The accumulation of lewy bodies is the indicator of end stage of the progressive Parkinson’s disease.
