ARFID Treatment
ARFID is usually treated according to the individual’s needs. It is most often possible to receive treatment in an outpatient setting.
Cognitive behavioral therapy or family-based treatment (for young people) are possible treatments, and sometimes medication is prescribed, usually to relieve anxiety.
Primary care physicians or pediatricians are also responsible for monitoring and managing an individual’s physical health. Nutritional management may also include support from a dietician, as well as assistance with sensory issues.
