A big-picture mindset and mental flexibility are the focus of CRT. Anorexia nervosa is currently treated with it. To combat anorexia nervosa’s rigid thinking patterns, a variety of exercises and tasks are employed in CRT. The following are examples of such tasks:

Your dominant hand and your non-dominant hand can be used to draw shapes or perform actions;

  • Switching your attention between two topics repeatedly
  • Reading and summarizing increasingly complex passages
  • Navigating a map in different ways
  • Come up with alternative uses for everyday objects
