The American Dental Association (ADA) says that one of the possible causes of bleeding gums is blood-thinning medications such as aspirin and warfarin. These medications reduce the blood’s ability to clot, which can lead to frequent bleeding – and can lead to gum diseases. Let your dentist or health care provider know if you are on any blood-thinning medications every time you visit.
