Foot Pain
Any foot injury can result in pain, inflammation and swelling which causes discomfort while performing tasks. Any pain in the ankle, toes, heels or soles can also cause foot pain. (1)
Foot Pain Causes
Foot pain is caused by many factors – ranging from trauma to infectious and chronic diseases. (2)
Avulsion fracture
An avulsion fracture is the breaking of a small part of bone from the main bone, at the site where the tendon or ligament is attached to the bone. These avulsion fractures mostly occur in the ankle or foot, causing foot pain. Avulsion fractures are not a serious problem until the broken part gets dislocated from its original site.
