The R.I.C.E method

This method has been proved useful in decreasing pain and inflammation at the injured site. The R stands for rest, I stand for Ice, C stands for compression and E stands for elevation. By following these steps, one can experience a considerable decrease in soreness and swelling. The best treatment for foot injury is to rest as much as possible. This rest allows the muscles and joints to recover properly. While resting, start icing the injured place. Icing slows down the blood circulation, which decreases inflammation. Winding an elastic medical bandage around the injured area will help in decreasing the swelling. Elevation involves raising the injured area above the heart level. This raising decreases the flow of blood through the injured area.
